Class description: Christina’s theater jazz class focuses on storytelling and character development through musicality, texture, and style. Class begins with a strong technical warm-up that connects breath to movement and expands the dancer’s kinesphere. Christina encourages each dancer to explore their artistic voice as a performer through both across-the-floor exercises and a center combination in a supportive environment. Much like musical theater today, the class vocabulary draws inspiration from all genres of dance and music to help transport the dancer and audience to a specific place, era, and feeling. The goal is for dancers to leave class with a basic knowledge of character development through movement and confidence in their performance.
