Portland Youth Dance is a non-competitive, pre-professional training program for dancers ages 10-18. PYD has three groups: PYD2, an exploratory program for beginner—intermediate dancers 10-18 years old; Company, for intermediate and advanced dancers 14-18 years old interested in contemporary, modern, and jazz forms; and Crew, for intermediate and advanced dancers 14-18 years old interested in hip hop forms.   PYD members receive superior technical instruction, outstanding and diverse choreography, numerous performance and travel opportunities, and direct involvement in our community programs.

About the Audition: Dancers do not need to prepare any material for the audition, which consists of a short ballet barre, modern dance phrase, jazz phrase across the floor, hip hop combination, and freestyle.  Dancers should plan to arrive no later than 12:45 pm to sign in and prepare.
