Portland Youth Dance Info Session – May 23rd, 7:15-8pm | Audition for PYD – June 2nd, 1-2pm Hip Hop Crew, 2:15-3:30pm Company & Company 2
Who: Portland Youth Dance Company is the resident, non-profit, non-competition company for ages 10-18. We have two levels of the Company, geared toward contemporary, jazz & modern focused dancers, and a Hip Hop crew.
What: Audition to be a part of the Portland Youth Dance Company & Crew. All groups will have the opportunity to learn choreography from a wide variety of professionals from Maine and away, perform in several professionally staged performances, festivals and sporting events, attend several master classes and professional performance, and participate in PYD’s Outreach program! Portland Youth Dancers may train at any studio of their choosing.
When: Saturday, June 2nd, 1-2 pm Hip Hop Crew and 2:15-3:30 pm Company & Company2

New to PYD? Join us for an Info Session on Wednesday, May 23rd, 7:15-8PM at Casco Bay Movers Dance Studio.
Eligibility for Company:
Company dancers must be at a high intermediate or advanced level, be between the ages of 12 and 18, and be trained in multiple dance techniques. Minimum of four continuous years of dance training is required, both technical and urban. Concurrent requirements are a minimum of three classes per week; ballet, modern and an at least one additional class.
Eligibility for Company II:
Company II dancers must be at an intermediate to advanced level, be between the ages of 10 and 18, and be trained in multiple dance techniques. Minimum of two continuous years of dance training is required, both technical and urban. Concurrent requirements are a minimum of two classes per week; ballet and one additional technique class.
Eligibility for Crew:
Crew dancers must be at an intermediate or advanced level in Hip Hop, and be between the ages of 10 and 18. Minimum requirement of two years of regular weekly attendance in a Hip Hop class is suggested, though Freestyle dancers encouraged to audition. Concurrent requirements are two classes per week: Hip Hop and an additional urban class such as Freestyle or Tap.
